American Idol Season 7: Six Left

Well, another week of American Idol is complete. We are now to six contestants left after Kristy Lee Cook was voted off tonight’s show. I think I pretty had this one figured out. After viewing last night’s show, I was a little uncertain based on the full overview of each contestant that performed.
I think the six contestants that are now left are the right ones to be still there at this point in the competition. I probably would have kept Michael Johns in a little bit longer, but I really think he will do well after the exposure he has had on the show in general. There were some performances this week that I just didn’t connect with. I attribute that to the simple fact that I have never been a fan of Mariah Carey’s music. I know there are quite a few who enjoy her, but I personally never enjoyed her style. I actually think the whole theme was a little weird based on the style of the current contestants.
The upcoming weeks will be interesting. My favorites left in the competition are Jason Castro and Carly Smithson. I really enjoy their original styles of performing and know that whatever happens from this point forward will be positive for all the remaining contestants. Much continued success to Kristy Lee Cook. I actually thought her performance last night was really good. I enjoy a wide variety of music, country music being one of the genres I listen to, and I really think Kristy has what it takes to be an incredible country singer.
